The Metro Parks Big Band Dances have become a summer tradition in Nashville that attracts large crowds of all types and levels of dancers, plus those who just come to enjoy the music.  This year's concerts will include free dance lessons by Dance World instructors, http://www.danceworldtn.com, from 7:00 to 7:30 pm and from 8:30 to 8:50 pm.  Open dancing is from 7:30 to 10:00 pm. and, as before, are held at the Centennial Park Event Shelter (behind the Parthenon, near the sunken garden) in Centennial Park, located at 2500 West End Ave. in downtown Nashville.  So bring your lawn chair and picnic basket for a real summertime treat, or Centennial Café will be selling food & beverages.  Sidewalk chalk will be provided in a special corner for children to keep them safe.  For more info, check out the Metro Parks web site calendar http://www.nashville.gov/parks/events_calendar.htm or call 862-8424, or  WAMB http://www.wamb.net/62.html
